Bloc Party announce run of dates playing Silent Alarm in full

The six European dates include a performance at London's Alexandra Palace on 24 October

Bloc Party have announced a run of six autumn dates at which they’ll play their debut album Silent Alarm in full.

The European tour, taking place from 15-24 October, concludes with a performance at London’s Alexandra Palace, preceded by a stopover at Dublin’s 3Arena.

The opening night will be at AFAS Live in Amsterdam, before dates in Paris, Berlin and Brussels.

Silent Alarm was released in February 2005 and is still arguably Bloc Party’s best album, receiving widespread positive reviews and a Mercury Music Prize nomination.

Amongst its 13 tracks were the popular singles Banquet and So Here We Are. The latter reached #5 in the UK Singles Chart, admittedly aided by the low pop single sales of the time.

Bloc Party’s lineup in 2005 included everpresent founding members Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack, plus original drummer Matt Tong and former bassist Gordon Moakes.

The tour, however, appears set to feature the current lineup of Okereke, Lissack, Justin Harris and Louise Bartle.

Tickets will be available from Friday 23 March, except for Dublin, which go on sale next Monday.
