Bonnaroo 2017: U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers announced as headliners

The xx, Glass Animals and Cage The Elephant some of the interesting names confirmed

The 2017 line-up for Bonnaroo has been announced, with veteran twosome U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers topping the bill.

One of the biggest US festivals will also feature Lorde, Flume and Chance The Rapper as leading names.

For those not feeling the front runners there’s The xx, Glass Animals and Crystal Castles 2.0 to choose from, and a whole raft of other indie, electronic and pop artists to boot.

James Vincent McMorrow, Hippo Campus, Cage The Elephant, Royal Blood, Tegan and Sara and Car Seat Headrest are some of the many bands on offer.

U2’s headline spot is, surprisingly, their first headline festival appearance Stateside, and is sure to be one to break bases given the band’s love ’em or hate ’em status.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, meanwhile, perform at Bonnaroo the year after headlining at Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK.

Bonnaroo takes place on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee from 8-11 June 2017. Tickets are on sale now.
