British Summer Time: Rancid, SWMRS and more to support Green Day

Published

The support bands for Green Day’s headline performance at British Summer Time at Hyde Park have been announced.

Green Day perform on the opening weekend of the festival, on Saturday 1 July, but until now the bands to be joining them were unknown.

A full lineup has now been revealed, with veteran US punk bands Rancid and Gogol Bordello leading the pack.

Rancid’s first album was released in 1993, the year before Green Day’s classic Dookie.

The Hives will also appear as part of a suddenly packed lineup, alongside the newer names of SWMRS and Public Access TV.

Beach Slang, The Living End and Sunflower Bean complete the list.

Tickets for each day of British Summer Time – held in Hyde Park, London – are sold individually.

Green Day’s performance is one of the most affordably ticketed, at £62.50.

The other headliners are Phil Collins, Kings Of Leon, Justin Bieber, The Killers and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Green Day are currently in the middle of their European tour, and will be live at a number of arena dates in the UK in February.
