LCD Soundsystem have announced their new album and details of a world tour.
The exciting news confirms the 1 September release of American Dream, plus four UK shows later the same month.
The album title means we’re sure it’ll be an ironic soundtrack to the USA’s regression under President Trump, of which James Murphy has been an outspoken critic.
It’ll be their first full-length since the critically-acclaimed This Is Happening in 2010, a defining album of the height of the hipster subculture.
New York City’s LCD Soundsystem reformed in 2015 for live shows, also releasing the festive single Christmas Will Break Your Heart.
The first two tracks from the new album – call the police and american dream – were released in early May.
The album release will be followed by two performances at Manchester’s The Warehouse Project, on 16 and 17 September.
That’s followed by a date in Glasgow on 19 September, and a performance at Alexandra Palace in London on 22 September.
Their European run also includes double-headers in Paris, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
