Electropop duo Avec Sans’ first ever US headline hour stopped by in New York for a fun live date.
London duo Alice Fox and Jack St. James played a vibrant live show, energetically performing material from debut album Heartbreak Hi, released last year.
Despite their British base, Avec Sans are signed to a US label, and as a result they’re arguably more famous Stateside, winning fans on previous visits for SXSW and showcase events.
They’re especially familiar in New York City, thanks to a four-date stretch of performances in October 2015.
That meant this stop was an opportunity to meet some of their admirers again, and the band were friendly and hung around afterwards to joke with fans and take photos.
A big part of their live set up is their minimalistic outfits and technological light shows, the latter the result of hacking their Novation launchpads.
Producer St. James tilts his triple set of pads toward the audience, giving a unique view of his deft playing and adding an extra visual dimension to the sounds.
To help get fans to the show, Avec Sans were joined by two New York artists, Vacances and Brother Tiger.
They followed up their public date with a private performance the following night at another NYC venue, Ludlow House.
