Dan Croll’s latest single is peculiar and dizzy, but we love it all the same.
Away From Today is a unique sound that is quintessentially Dan, a fusion inspired by bold African tribal beats. In many ways it melts away the snow that many of us have seen, taking us to warmer climes.
The track combines a slew of instrumentation that wouldn’t typically be found on the same album, let alone the same song, including evolving percussion, horns, chimes, electronics and a hip-hop-esque beat.
Dan’s second album is set to be released later in 2017, produced by the unlikely duo of Cee Lo and Animal Collective’s Ben Allen.
His first album, Sweet Disarray, was an electropop hit in 2014.
Dan’s also touring the UK in May.
