TRNSMT: Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy to headline new Scottish festival

The T in the Park replacement has announced a heavyweight lineup for its debut year

The lineup for the inaugural TRNSMT Festival has been announced, and it’s a truly heavyweight lineup of major names.

Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro have been announced as headliners for the Glasgow festival.

Other performers between 7-9 July will include The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Belle and Sebastian and Two Door Cinema Club.

Indie pop band Blossoms, breakthrough star Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Scotland’s own Twin Atlantic are also on the bill.

Circa Waves, The Kooks, George Ezra and London Grammar complete the initial list of names.

TRNSMT’s epic lineup is something of a bolt from the blue for a festival that, in 2017, replaces the beleaguered T in the Park.

The new festival was announced earlier this month and although Radiohead were rumoured from day one, the sheer volume of major acts is a surprise.

Radiohead’s performance will be on Friday 7 July, followed by Kasabian’s headline spot on Saturday 8 and Biffy Clyro on Sunday 9.

Kasabian’s appearance is surprising as their Reading and Leeds Festival slots had been billed as a UK festival exclusive.

TRNSMT takes place at Glasgow Green, and tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am.
