Helsinki’s Kasvot are an underground band keeping the old-school gothic rock sound alive with an authentic take on 1980s post-punk.
Last year they released Patsaat , a thumping trad-goth track, and now they’ve pivoted slightly to try their hand at the post-punk floorfiller.
Lasimeri (“Sea of Glass” in English) adds a new wave edge to their sound, melding a pulsing bassline and cold drums to gothic rock guitars with results reminiscent of Belgrado’s last album Intra Apogeum.
The whole vibe is complimented by aesthetic cover design from Kasvot vocalist and local goth scene ringleader Waldemar Blommendahl.
